Location 1 - Sedona, AZ

GREAT FOR

  • Red rock epic views, hiking, off roading, star and milky way shots.
  • There are many awesome options for locations here, all of which are beautiful.
  • Drone is allowed in many spots


DOWN SIDE

  • Sedona is very crowded, especially the pretty spots but there are ways to work around it
  • The best option would be do one location at sunrise (Cathedral Rock, Devils Bridge, etc.) and then do an off roading adventure in the evening for sunset (merry go round).


TO KNOW:

  • 2 hours from Phoenix Airport
  • Super Cute AirBnbs
  • No permits needed at this time
  • Arches and standing floral arrangements not permitted at this time

The entire day in Sedona- sunrise and sunset or just consecutive time

  • Merry Go Round
  • Secret Slick Rock



Location 2 - Page, AZ

GREAT FOR

  • Epic Canyon views, hiking, off roading, star and milky way shots, could get a lot of locations in one day
  • Horeshoe bend is prettiest at sunset
  • Lake Powell Off Roading is best for sunrise
  • Slot Canyons are a possibility with the Navajo's permission


DOWN SIDE

  • Horseshoe bend is an easily accessible location very crowded but it's always possible to get in for the good shots we just will be around many other people. No drone allowed here.
  • Lake Powell will be almost completely secluded but the ride out is an hour+ of off roading so the morning would start about 3 am. Drone allowed here.


TO KNOW:

  • 4-5 hours from Phoenix Airport
  • Horseshoe Bend Permit needed
  • Arches and standing floral arrangements not permitted at this time
  • NO drone at Horseshoe bend

Shooting Ideas

  • Start with an off roading adventure & sunrise with an epic view & end with sunset at Horseshoe bend
  • Option to shoot midday at a slot canyon
  • Start in Page and end in Sedona for sunset

Location 3 - San Diego, CA

GREAT FOR

Epic views cliffs and ocean, beach and ocean fun. From running into the waves to a sailboat cruise and jumping into the water, the options are endless and would be a blast.


a DOWN SIDE

The easily accessible locations are very crowded but midweek will help a ton! Only a small permit for one cliff that is stunning but the rest are open.


TO KNOW:

  • Just minutes from the San Diego Airport
  • Super Cute AirBnbs
  • No permits needed for most areas
  • Drone is doable for most spots



Shooting Ideas

  • Two days - one sunset on the cliffs and beach and then sunrise sailboat cruise
  • Shoot afternoon through sunset or even stars
  • Start for sunrise at the sand dunes (2.5 hours away) and end on the cliffs or sailboat

Location 4 - Zion, National Park

GREAT FOR

Epic views of mountains, cliffs, winding roads and rivers as well as greenery too!


a DOWN SIDE

The easily accessible locations are very crowded. The best option would be do one location at sunrise (Overlook, Devils Bridge, etc.) and then do an off roading adventure in the evening for sunset (merry go round).


TO KNOW:

  • 3 hours from Las Vegas Airport
  • No permits needed at this time
  • Arches and standing floral arrangements not permitted
  • No drone allowed in NPs

Location 5-Moab/Arches/Canyonland National Park

Great for

Epic views of mountains, cliffs, winding roads and rivers as well as greenery too!


Down Side

The easily accessible locations are very crowded. The only option would be to shoot here at sunrise and end in another location (Zion, Page, Sedona, etc.)

  • Salt Lake City is the closest airport
  • Permits needed
